First Evening in PA
Last Thursday we left bright and early (think 5am) for the airport. After a short flight and a layover in Midway, we reached PA. We also discovered that a certain Southwest crew in Midway likes to begin boarding 45 minutes before takeoff; this is unfortunate, since we did not get to sit together (Southwest has open seating). However, the flights went well, we picked up our rental car, and met Louisa’s parents for lunch at Olive Garden. After lunch, we occupied Zack’s apartment while he was at class, did some computer work and relaxing. Later that evening we also did a midnight Eat ‘n Park run.

The Greene River Trail
Friday morning was a beautiful day; we were glad to miss the 4′ of snow in CO (yes, that’s feet, not inches). However, we had lovely weather in PA. We went for a hike on the Greene River trail, by the Greene River yacht club in Greene County. Louisa was excited to see a coal barge going down the river. We also saw an abandoned coal mine. We then went to the Fredericktown Butcher Shop, where we got the world’s best fried chicken. Yes, it really is that good – crunchy, juicy, goodness. In the evening we met some friends and went to Dave and Buster’s in Pittsburgh. We decided to stop at Sheetz on the way back.

Inside the Chapel
On Saturday we got ready and headed up to Duquesne for Joe and Kate’s wedding. The ceremony was beautiful, the reception was wonderful, and the bride and groom looked so happy together. Congratulations to both of you! Oh, and the priest was hysterical. Saturday evening involved more relaxing and visiting, and then we left bright and early (think 4am) for the airport and our flight back to Denver. Check out some of the pictures from our whirlwind trip.
