“Knocked Up”

So what exactly is so brilliant about this movie, “Knocked Up”? Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 91% rating with the general consensus of “Hilarious, poignant, and refreshing; sometimes raunchy, always witty.” Apparently it’s a movie about a one-night stand leading to the wonderful process of becoming parents. Although I haven’t seen the movie, I feel the need to comment on it. What in the heck is exactly so funny about people who don’t know how to use birth control? I mean, seriously, it’s NOT that difficult, and it’s not rocket science. And it’s not expensive, either. So sheesh, there’s no reason to get “knocked up”; so I view the movie more as an attestation to the couple’s stupidity than as an endearing and witty look at an unexpected pregnancy. And also, one-night-stands are so trashy. How can I watch a movie about stupid, trashy, skanky people? I can’t, it’s not going to happen.
I’ll see you at the AMC 24 to see the movie on Saturday.
Right, apparently you’ll be seeing it with your imaginary buddy, Larry.
Larry and I hope you will make it.
I think I’m outnumbered on this one, huh. Maybe we’ll watch it on DVD - then I can sleep through it.
Hmmmm… Though I’ll admit, in the past, I haven’t exactly been immune to the disease that is the one night stand, it is trashy and disrespectful. This movie seems to condone one-night-stands and worse yet, it has the potential for reinforcing the trashy idea with todays youth. I say this is just another shining example of how todays liberal media contributes to the moral decline of society. Ya know what I’m gonna do….. Nothing, yep, nothing…. I’m gonna allow Hollywood to once again glamorize immoral, unethical, unacceptable behavior because “their ain’t a damn thing I can do about it anyway.” Why can’t I do anything about it? Because Americans have turned into a bunch of lazy, fast-food-devouring, hypocrites that allow their children to be corrupted right under their noses while constantly practicing a “do as I say, not as I do” life style. American’s need to grow-up, accept responsibility for their actions, and stop allowing our over zealous, rating frenzied, false media to influence their lives.
See ya at the box office Tony
