Little Yellowstone Trail - Rocky Mountain National Park
May 29th, 2007 by Tony

On a normal summer day, the Colorado River Trail would be an awesome 8-9 mile round trip in a beautiful area of Rocky Mountain National Park, CO. If you are hiking this trail in late May, you will definitely want to be prepared for some snow drifts that haven’t quite melted (even the path to the privy above was covered with snow). The trail is known for views of wildlife and its resemblance to Yellowstone National Park (it really does feel like you are in the park at points along the trail). For more information about the trail, check out this great writeup.
