What’s with these Seizure-Causing Commercials?
Mar 27th, 2007 by Tony
If I had seizures, I’d almost be afraid to watch TV commercials anymore… So far this week there were two commercials that were COMPLETELY unnecessary. One, a Verizon ad with a flashing/strobe effect going on through most of the commercial. Second, an ad for a local Saturn or Kia dealership here in Denver. Do these people think that by flashing bright colors repeatedly that people will buy their products? It’s not like a 5 year old is going to buy a Saturn or a cell phone (if they are, then there are bigger problems than what I am ranting about)!
So my thoughts… Have these commercials (or commercials like them) caused seizures for anyone? If they have, can people that have had a serious seizures sue these companies? I’d be happy if TV stations refused this ad, not only because of the fact that they can cause seizures, but also because they REALLY annoy me.
And while I’m on the subject, what’s up with those bright strobe lights on the top of school buses? I’m all for protecting kids, but if you can’t see a HUGE, YELLOW school bus on the road in front of you, then there is definitely a problem. Even at night, these lights are just a distraction on the road.
Well, that’s it for now I think… DOWN WITH STROBE COMMERCIALS!!!!
